Popular TikTok creator, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has revealed the harrowing childhood experience that led to his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity.
Speaking during a live session with his followers, Peller recounted the trauma he faced while attending a traditional Quranic school, commonly called Ile Kewu.
According to him, the repeated physical abuse he suffered at the hands of instructors deeply affected his perception of the faith.
“I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian. I go to church,” he stated. “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school. That’s why I stopped going.”
Peller explained that the place meant to nurture his spiritual growth ended up becoming a source of pain and fear, leaving lasting emotional scars.
He said the harsh treatment he endured as a child not only turned him away from Islamic religious education but also influenced his eventual embrace of Christianity.
