The Tinubu Media Force (TMF), a support group for President Bola Tinubu, has dismissed the newly formed political coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a “recycling hub for failed political ambitions.”

This comes in response to recent developments in Nigeria’s political scene, where opposition leaders and some disgruntled figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have rallied under the ADC, aiming to challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

TMF National Coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, criticized the coalition, calling it a union driven by desperation rather than a genuine desire to serve Nigerians.

“The resurrection of the ADC is not founded on principles but on political opportunism by displaced politicians clinging to lost relevance,” Abiola stated.

“This is not a third force. It’s a weaker version of the second held together by frustration, not vision or unity.”

According to Abiola, the coalition comprises two main groups: former power players in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ousted APC elites from the Buhari administration.

“They once enjoyed immense power and wealth during Buhari’s era. Now, after failing to influence Tinubu’s administration, they’ve aligned with their former rivals in a bid to regain control,” he added.

He also accused the ADC of deliberately adopting a name phonetically similar to “APC” to confuse voters.

“It’s a shallow strategy built on mimicry, but Nigerians have become more politically aware and can see through such tactics,” he said.

“This is not a national movement, it’s a political recycling plant.”

Abiola emphasized that Tinubu’s government remains focused on delivering policy-driven leadership and national reform.

“From economic stabilization to structural reforms, this administration is focused on accountability, innovation, and recovery. While the opposition makes noise, Nigerians are beginning to see the value of sound governance,” he noted.

He urged citizens to look beyond “political distractions” and remain committed to building a progressive Nigeria.

“We need leaders who will build the future not those clinging to past influence,” he concluded.

Earlier this week, former Senate President David Mark and ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola were named interim Chairman and Secretary of the ADC, respectively.

Mark formally launched the party as the official platform for the newly formed National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement.

Key political figures present at the launch included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Datti Baba-Ahmed, and Rotimi Amaechi.

Others in attendance were Nasir El-Rufai, Abubakar Malami, Aminu Tambuwal, Ireti Kingibe, Liyel Imoke, and Bolaji Abdullahi.

Also present were John Oyegun, Gabriel Suswam, Tunde Ogbeha, Mohammed Abubakar, Emeka Ihedioha, Oserheimen Osunbor, Victor Umeh, Celestine Omehia, Abdulfatah Ahmed, Bindow Jibrilla, Babachir Lawal, Aishatu Binani, Dele Momodu, Senator Dino Melaye, Prof. Olushola Eleka, and Senator Ishaku Abbo.
