President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to hold a closed-door meeting with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The high-level meeting, initiated by the President, is expected to take place in the Conference Hall of the Presidential Villa. It comes just hours before the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, slated for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday July 25, 2025, at the State House Banquet Hall.

The gathering will bring together members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), the collective body of APC governors. Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is expected to lead 23 other APC governors to the session.

According to party insiders, the meeting is considered “crucial” amid ongoing developments within the ruling party, including consultations over the appointment of a new substantive National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in June.

As of press time, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji had already arrived at the venue ahead of their colleagues.

President Tinubu is expected to use the meeting to brief the governors on recent policy directions of the Federal Government and discuss the party’s internal strategies. The deliberations is also anticipated to influence the tone and decisions of Friday’s NEC meeting, where significant leadership and structural resolutions are likely to be made.
