The Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has officially become the most expensive player in Turkish football history following his record-breaking move to Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old striker was unveiled on Wednesday night before a packed crowd of enthusiastic Galatasaray supporters in Istanbul. After spending the previous season on loan from Napoli, Osimhen has now sealed a permanent transfer to the Turkish giants.
Galatasaray activated his €75 million release clause to complete the deal, making it the highest fee ever paid for a player in Turkish football.
With this transfer, Osimhen surpasses all previous records, outpacing former big-money signings such as:
1. Victor Osimhen – €75m (Galatasaray)
2. Youssef En-Nesyri – €19.5m (Fenerbahce)
3. Gabriel Sara – €18m (Galatasaray)
4. Mario Jardel – €17m (Galatasaray)
5. Nicolo Zaniolo – €15m (Galatasaray)
Osimhen’s move not only sets a new benchmark for Turkish clubs but also signals Galatasaray’s ambition as they strengthen their squad for both domestic and European competitions.
