President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday honored former President Muhammadu Buhari by attending his burial in Daura, Katsina State, where Buhari was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
The funeral marked a solemn farewell to Buhari, who led Nigeria both as a military Head of State and as a civilian President. The ceremony culminated with a Janazah prayer led by Sheikh Salisu Rabiu, Imam of the Central Mosque in Daura.
At exactly 5:50 p.m., Buhari’s remains were interred, accompanied by full military honors. Army Generals and Service Chiefs bore the coffin, and a 21-gun salute echoed through Daura, signaling the end of Buhari’s public life.
