The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo, has been awarded First Lady of the Year (Health-Care and Child Support) at the 2025 Nigerian Humanitarian Awards and Magazine.

The award ceremony, held on Friday night, followed a nationwide nomination and voting process that saw participation from thousands of Nigerians and humanitarian observers across the country.

Organised by the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation, the award recognises Dr Soludo’s impactful work through her initiative, “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo”.

The programme promotes community health awareness, maternal and child care, nutritional education, and support for underprivileged families in both rural and urban areas of Anambra State.

While receiving the award in Abuja, Dr Soludo expressed her gratitude to the organisers and Nigerians who supported her vision and voted in the selection process.

“Last night in Abuja, I received the award as Nigeria’s First Lady of the Year (Healthcare & Child Support), courtesy of Humanitarian Awards, Magazine & Summit,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, she added “What began over 19 years ago as a simple passion has transformed into a massive crusade. I’m deeply grateful for the grace of consistency and the unwavering support.”

Dr Soludo dedicated the award to her “Healthy Living Family” and the children of Anambra, saying.

“To everyone who joins me each Saturday for our health workouts, and to the beautiful children whose futures have been impacted by this initiative this award is for you. You are the pride of what we do.”
