The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victories in 20 out of the 23 local government areas in the just-concluded Chairmanship and Councillorship elections held on Saturday across Rivers State.
In contrast, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed to win only three LGAs, according to results announced by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) on Sunday.
Notably, Governor Siminalayi Fubara lost his own local government area, Opobo-Nkoro, to the opposition APC.
RSIEC Chairman, Dr. Michael Odey, disclosed the official results at the Commission’s headquarters along Aba Road in Port Harcourt.
