Supporters aligned with Julius Abure’s faction of the Labour Party (LP) have taken to the National Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to insist on the reinstatement of their candidates in the upcoming nationwide bye-elections.

 

The protest, which began peacefully around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, saw dozens of demonstrators brandishing banners and placards with messages such as.

 

“INEC, who are you working for against LP?”, “Mahmood, stop undermining Nigeria’s democracy”, and “INEC must follow court orders”.
