The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, cutting the price from ₦850 to ₦820 per litre. The new price takes effect on August 12, 2025.
In a statement, the company described the move as part of its “unwavering commitment to national development” and pledged to maintain a steady and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across Nigeria.
As part of its broader operational and sustainability drive, the refinery also disclosed plans to roll out 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks starting August 15, 2025. The trucks, which will be deployed in phases, are intended to enhance fuel distribution nationwide while reducing carbon emissions.
According to the company, the dual measures, lowering petrol prices and transitioning to cleaner, more efficient transport solutions underscore Dangote’s role in driving economic relief for consumers and advancing Nigeria’s energy transition agenda.
