Chelsea and Brazilian forward Joao Pedro has expressed confidence in his abilities, describing himself as a “quality” and “highly technical” player that his new team needed following his big-money transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea.

Pedro, 23, joined the Blues in June for a reported £60 million after an impressive season with Brighton, where he scored 10 goals and registered six assists. His arrival at Stamford Bridge also saw him feature in the FIFA Club World Cup, helping Enzo Maresca’s side lift the trophy. The striker netted both goals in a 2-0 semi-final victory over former club Fluminense before Chelsea went on to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final.

Speaking to JioHotstar, Pedro shared his excitement about the move, saying: “I’m happy to have joined Chelsea. I’m a very technical player. I love scoring goals and, having played in midfield when I was younger, I can also deliver good passes to my teammates. Overall, I’d say I’m a quality, technical player.”

The Brazilian will now aim to be among the top contenders for the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2025/26 campaign.
