Manchester United’s latest signing, Benjamin Sesko, has opened up about the player who inspired his football journey, naming Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his idol at Old Trafford.

Speaking during his first interview since completing the move, Sesko expressed deep admiration for Ibrahimovic, describing the former striker as a figure he has looked up to since childhood.

“He’s been my role model since I was small,” the 21-year-old Slovenian forward told the club’s official website. “I’ve watched every single YouTube video I could find of him because, for me, he’s just amazing.”

Ibrahimovic enjoyed a successful stint at Manchester United between 2016 and 2018, netting 29 goals in all competitions. Known for his charisma, technical brilliance, and confidence both on and off the pitch, the former Sweden captain left an enduring mark at the club and in world football.

Sesko, who arrives at Old Trafford with high expectations, said Ibrahimovic’s fearlessness, skill, and self-belief have been key qualities he hopes to emulate in his own career.

“His mentality, his presence on the pitch, and his ability to deliver in big moments are things I admire,” Sesko added. “I want to bring that same energy to Manchester United.”

The young striker’s comments will no doubt excite fans eager to see how he adapts to life in the Premier League, with many already drawing comparisons between Sesko’s height, physicality, and style of play and that of his idol.
