Fresh FM Nigeria has confirmed a fire outbreak at its headquarters in Challenge, Ibadan, on Friday night.
In a statement signed by Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Fresh FM and Yinka Ayefele Limited, the station revealed that the fire severely damaged vital facilities, including the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM.
The blaze also spread to the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and other essential broadcasting infrastructure.
Efforts by staff to contain the fire with in-house extinguishers failed due to its intensity. It was eventually brought under control with the help of local residents, passersby, and officials from the Oyo State Fire Service.
“We can’t yet determine the full extent of the damage or the cause of the fire,” Akindele said.
No casualties have been reported so far, and investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
