Isak-and-Jackson

The summer transfer window is entering its decisive phase, with clubs scrambling for late signings, players reconsidering their futures, and surprise names suddenly becoming available. While several Premier League teams have already secured major deals, a number of high-profile stars still face uncertain situations. Titles may not be won in August, but the decisions made now can shape the season.

Here are top ten players to watch as the transfer window is reaching the deadline

Alexander Isak

Newcastle insist their striker is not for sale, but Isak seems to want a fresh challenge. He skipped the club’s Asian tour and has told officials he wishes to leave after three seasons. Liverpool remain the strongest contender, reportedly ready to test Newcastle’s resolve with a £120m bid. Arsenal also like him but are focused on Viktor Gyökeres. Losing Isak would be a huge blow for Eddie Howe as Champions League football looms.

Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea have ruled out a sale, yet Jackson’s name keeps coming up in discussions. The Senegalese forward had an inconsistent campaign and drew criticism for a costly red card at the Club World Cup. With Delap and João Pedro arriving, Chelsea could be tempted to sell if the right offer comes. Manchester United showed interest earlier this summer but walked away over the asking price.

Alejandro Garnacho

At Manchester United, Garnacho has been placed on the exit list after clashing with new coach Ruben Amorim, who told him to “find a new club” in front of teammates. The 21-year-old still retains strong market value, and Chelsea are watching closely. Unlike older players on the chopping block, Garnacho remains a saleable asset after last season’s performances.

Christopher Nkunku

A year after joining Chelsea, Nkunku has struggled with injuries and limited opportunities. The Blues are now willing to listen to offers, having lowered their asking price from £65m to the low £40m range. Clubs in Italy and Germany are monitoring him, and Chelsea may cash in to balance their books and free up wages.

Marc Guéhi

Crystal Palace rejected major bids last year, but Guéhi is now entering the final year of his contract. With no extension agreed, Palace face a tough choice: sell or risk losing him for free next summer. Liverpool, fresh from selling Jarell Quansah, and Newcastle are among the clubs interested. Palace are notoriously hard negotiators, so this could go to the wire.

Eberechi Eze

Eze has become a top target for Arsenal and Tottenham. Spurs are preparing a formal offer, while Arsenal are encouraged by signals from the player’s camp. Palace risk losing both Eze and Guéhi this summer. Although his contract isn’t as pressing, bids approaching £60m could force their hand if Eze pushes for the move.

Nathan Collins

Collins impressed at Brentford last season and has drawn attention from Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs. Brentford don’t want to sell this late in the window, but a significant bid—especially from a Champions League club—might be too tempting to resist.

Gianluigi Donnarumma

PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper remains linked with a Premier League switch. Manchester City and Chelsea have been tracking him, with City considering him as a potential long-term replacement for Ederson. Donnarumma is reportedly open to a move to England if the opportunity arises.

Douglas Luiz

Douglas Luiz could be on the move before deadline day. Nottingham Forest are exploring a deal, though his wage demands complicate matters. Juventus were interested earlier in the summer but failed to agree on a fee with Aston Villa. If Villa receive a strong offer, they may sell to fund late signings.

Jakub Kiwior

Interest in Arsenal’s Kiwior is growing in Serie A, with AC Milan and Roma keen. Arsenal are willing to part ways if it clears room for a more experienced defender. The Polish international has shown promise but needs regular minutes, making him a candidate for a late departure.

Other names to watch:

A few players are not officially up for sale but could still leave if the right opportunity arises. Leandro Trossard, Rodrigo and Yoane Wissa are all in uncertain positions at their clubs and may yet be involved in late deals.
