Former senator Shehu Sani has criticized state governors for their inaction amid the worsening economic hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.
Sani noted that while President Bola Tinubu faces widespread public backlash, many governors are benefitting financially and evading responsibility.
He pointed out that despite the severe strain on citizens due to rising fuel prices and the cost of living, state governments have remained largely silent.
In a post on X, the former lawmaker stated:
“The subsidy was removed. The people are bearing the brunt. The President is receiving the bashing. The governors are receiving the alerts.”
