Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals in connection with a synthetic drug manufacturing network uncovered in Gurugram, Haryana.
According to The Times of India report on Tuesday, the operation was linked to a February 2025 seizure in Kozhikode, Kerala, where police recovered 778 grams of MDMA near the railway station.
Interrogation of a Malappuram native, identified as Siraj, revealed that the drugs had been sourced from New Delhi. Investigations into his phone and bank records subsequently traced the supply chain to three Nigerians.
The suspects — Henry Onuchukwu, John alias David, and Okolie Romanus — were identified as key players and tracked to Gurugram through mobile tower data. Acting on intelligence, Haryana authorities raided an industrial estate and uncovered 900 grams of cocaine, 2.3 kg of unprocessed cocaine, 1.6 kg of sulfonamides, and 43 mobile phones, with the haul valued at around ₹1 crore.
Police further disclosed that, apart from Romanus, the other foreign nationals lacked valid visas or legal documents to remain in India.
The arrests came after extensive investigations by a Kozhikode town police team led by Inspector Jithesh, who coordinated efforts across Haryana, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh to dismantle the drug network.
