The Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development (IICSD) has commended Nigerian youths for their resilience, courage, and commitment to nation-building despite prevailing challenges.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Jare Tiamiyu, on Tuesday to mark the International Youth Day, the organisation celebrated the role of young people in strengthening democracy, championing equity, and fostering national unity.
The Statement read, “Through your voices, reforms have been made, our democracy strengthened and our unity in diversity sharpened to midwife greater prosperity for Nigeria and Nigerians
“On our party, we remain keenly devoted and unrelenting in pursuing causes of societal change and transformation. Our projects, most especially, the Osun Open Local Government Project (OsunOpenLG) has continuously advocated for the common good of the people, by championing the institutionalisation of good governance at the grassroots.
“We are unperturbed by the challenge of constantly seeking the reopening of our council areas six months after it was shut for obvious reasons.
“We are unhappy that our development as young people is halted by the with holding of local government funds. We seek that those in charge do right by the people, which they begged for votes as posterity is a definite decider of the actions of men”, the statement concluded.
