Former President Goodluck Jonathan has raised concerns about a fraudulent Instagram account being operated by suspected impostors using his name and image.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Media Adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan categorically disassociated himself from the account, which uses the handle goodluck_ebelejonathan, labeling it as fake and misleading.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fraudulent Instagram account operating under the handle goodluck_ebelejonathan, which is falsely impersonating former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,” the statement said.

Eze noted that the individual behind the fake profile has been sharing deceptive content some of it copied from Jonathan’s official and verified Facebook page while pretending to speak on his behalf.

He emphasized that Jonathan does not have an Instagram presence and urged the public and media outlets to disregard the impersonator’s posts and avoid any engagement with the bogus account.
