The former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, has been nominated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan-In-Council.

The nomination was formalised on Monday during a council meeting held at the Olubadan Palace in Oke-Aremo, within the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State. The meeting was chaired by the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola.

Confirming the development, Oba Ajibola stated, “We, the members of the Olubadan-In-Council, have unanimously signed and nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

He added that the council’s resolution would be forwarded to Governor Seyi Makinde, who is responsible for confirming the nomination and selecting a date for the official presentation of the staff of office.

However, Oba Ajibola noted that the ceremony would not take place this week due to the burial of the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, which is scheduled to hold within the week.

“The governor may choose to hold the ceremony in one, two, or three weeks’ time,” he added.
