The Osun State Government has announced the second edition of its Imole Circular Economy and Waste-to-Wealth Initiative Training, while also introducing a new referral reward system to further boost participation.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Consultant on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, Prof Chinwe Obuaku, is part of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s broad green initiative agenda focusing on environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and revenue generation through recycling.

In a statement signed by the executive Assistant to Consultant to Osun state Government on climate change and Renewable Energy on Media,Ajiboye Abdul-Jawad Adeleke, the key feature of this edition is a referral incentive, where registered participants earn ₦300—equivalent to 1kg of PET bottles—for every new participant they refer.

Scheduled for September 13, 2025, at the SDC Hall, OSAMA Building, Abeere, the training promises hands-on skills, exposure to the PET value chain, networking with green entrepreneurs, and economic opportunities in circular economy practices.

Professor Chinwe Obuaku, Consultant on Climate Change and Renewable Energy to the Osun State Government, described the program as more than just recycling.

“We are building a community of green entrepreneurs who will clean the environment while earning a living. The referral incentive is our way of encouraging participants to spread the message and bring more people into the green economy,” she said.
