Parents and secondary school leavers have voiced frustration over challenges uploading their 2025 WAEC results to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal.

Speaking to PUNCH Online and posting on social media, several affected individuals said JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres informed them the CAPS portal was inaccessible for WAEC result uploads.

The issue has sparked concerns, particularly among candidates preparing for post-UTME screenings, as some institutions now require uploaded results before granting admission.

CAPS, introduced by JAMB, was designed to streamline the admission process, improve transparency, and prevent multiple admissions.

A worried parent, Fatimah Ajayi, said, “My daughter and I visited a CBT centre on Wednesday, but they told us the 2025 WAEC results couldn’t be uploaded yet. With the University of Ibadan’s post-UTME approaching, this could cost her a chance at admission.”

Another parent, Aliu Kehinde, shared similar concerns: “CBT centres say uploads are suspended. I’m trying to upload my son’s updated WAEC result after a successful review.”

On X (formerly Twitter), user @anikeola831 posted, “Going to CBT centres every day without being able to upload results is frustrating so much time and money wasted.”

Another user, @Ridtech3, added, “The CAPS portal for 2025 WAEC result uploads is locked. When will it open?”

In response to the growing complaints, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin denied reports of any suspension.

“It’s not true that we suspended the upload of WAEC results. People are uploading. WAEC had issues earlier, which delayed some uploads, but that has been resolved,” Benjamin told PUNCH on Wednesday.

“We’ve never stopped uploads. Everything is working fine.”
