The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives has pledged full support for the party’s decisions and strategies as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

The lawmakers made their position known after an emergency meeting held on Monday in Abuja. Speaking to journalists after the session, caucus leader and member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State, Fred Agbedi, stressed that PDP lawmakers are united in their commitment to strengthening the party and ensuring its victory in the next election cycle.

“As representatives of the people, we are determined to back the party’s position, foster unity and stability, and work collectively towards securing victory in the presidential and other elections come 2027,” Agbedi said.

He dismissed suggestions of internal crises, explaining that the caucus has adopted the resolutions of the party’s committees and organs, including recent decisions from Zamfara and Lagos chapters. He further assured that PDP lawmakers will continue to support peace and reconciliation efforts to reposition the party as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The caucus also reiterated its readiness to back the national leadership of the PDP in providing a strong platform capable of challenging the APC in 2027.

Meanwhile, the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is scheduled for Thursday, with discussions on reconciliation, discipline of errant members, and preparations for the November national convention expected to dominate the agenda.
