Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the global music icon, is celebrating a monumental milestone: 20 years in the music industry. The Barbados-born star took a moment to express deep gratitude to her fans, family, and all those who’ve been part of her incredible journey.
In an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter) this past Saturday, Rihanna shared a reflection on the pivotal moment when she left her home country to pursue her music career. “Twenty years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and my family to start this journey, beginning with my first album,” she wrote.
At 36, the singer looked back on the unwavering support of her fans many of whom have followed her since the early days, while others joined along the way. “I’m forever grateful to all of you,” she said.
With over 250 million records sold worldwide, Rihanna also took time to honor her family, who have been her constant rock. She expressed thanks to the many professionals in the music industry from producers and DJs to designers and choreographers who have contributed to her success.
“I thank God, He’s been incredibly generous to me, and all the glory belongs to Him,” she added.
From her 2005 breakthrough hit Pon de Replay to becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time, Rihanna has built a legacy in music, winning nine Grammy Awards and breaking countless Billboard records.
Beyond her music career, she has also cultivated an empire with her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty brands, both of which have helped her reach a billion-dollar valuation.
