Akin Olowokere, newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan, Oyo State, collapsed and died on Monday morning during a training session.
Eyewitnesses reported that Olowokere slumped on the pitch and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later coach had only recently joined the Oluyole Warriors’ technical crew following the exit of Gbenga Ogunbote and his team.
Known for his calm demeanor, Olowokere previously served as an assistant coach at Sunshine Stars under Edith Agoye after years of playing for the club.
