President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, on the death of his father, Alhaji Momohsani Ododo, who passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President sympathized with the Ododo family, friends, and the people of Kogi State over the loss of the elder statesman.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved. I deeply share in the pain of the Ododo family and the entire Kogi community at this time of mourning,” Tinubu said.
Alhaji Momohsani, aged 83, died shortly after observing the 2 p.m. Muslim prayers. President Tinubu described him as a respected community leader whose legacy of faith, service to God, and moral uprightness would continue to reflect in the lives of his children.
The President urged Governor Ododo and his family to find comfort in the exemplary life their patriarch lived and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul as well as God’s strength and consolation for all who mourn him.
