President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Dr. Muheeba Dankaka as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) for a second five-year term.
The president also approved the appointment of Mohammed Musa as the commission’s new Secretary, while Kayode Oladele, representing Ogun State, retains his position as Commissioner. Oladele, a former member of the House of Representatives, briefly served as acting Chairman after Dankaka’s first term expired in 2024.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, in a statement on Monday, confirmed the renewal of appointments for Lawal Roni (Jigawa), Abubakar Bunu (Kebbi), and Eludayo Eluyemi (Osun).
New Commissioners named by the president include:
South East: Obina Oriaku (Abia), Nnoli Gloria (Anambra), Nwokpor Nduka (Ebonyi), Peter Eze (Enugu), Jerry Alagbaoso (Imo).
South South: Mrs. Bema Madayi (Adamawa), Obongawan Ebong (Akwa Ibom), Dr. Stella Odey Ekpo (Cross River), Ederin Idisi (Delta), Chief Victor Edoror (Edo), Aaron Chukwuemeka (Rivers).
South West: Sola Fokanle (Ekiti), Ajimudu Bola (Ondo), Ayodeji Aleshinloye (Oyo).
North East: Babangida Gwana (Bauchi), Modu Mustapha (Borno), Pam Bolman (Plateau), Bobboi Kaigama (Taraba), Jibir Maigari (Yobe).
North West: Ruth Ango (Kaduna), Muhammad Nayya (Kano), Anas Isah (Katsina), Bello Eneye (Kogi), Alhaji Aminu Tambari (Sokoto), Sani Garba (Zamfara).
North Central: Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi (Kwara), Alh. Isah Jibrin (Niger), Ibrahim Mairiga (Gombe).
Federal Capital Territory: Solomon Dagami.
The statement noted that the appointments take immediate effect.
