Manchester City are moving closer to securing one of the most talked-about transfers of the summer, as Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who has struggled for regular game time at Paris Saint-Germain, is believed to be eager to join forces with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. Sources suggest Donnarumma views City as the ideal platform to continue his career at the highest level, with the prospect of competing weekly in the Premier League and challenging for the UEFA Champions League trophy a major attraction.

Negotiations are now underway between City and PSG over a transfer fee. While the French champions initially demanded around €50 million, reports indicate the final figure may drop as both sides work towards an agreement.

City’s push for Donnarumma, however, hinges on the future of current No. 1, Éderson. The Brazilian international has drawn serious interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray, who are preparing a fresh approach for his services. Should Éderson depart, City are expected to accelerate talks and push through Donnarumma’s arrival.

PSG manager Luis Enrique recently explained his decision to phase Donnarumma out, noting that he preferred “a different kind of goalkeeper” and has chosen Lucas Chevalier as his first choice, though he still described the Italian as “one of the best in the world.”
