Police authorities in Tripoli, Libya, have arrested two Nigerians accused of carrying out a series of robberies in the city.
According to Migrant Rescue Watch, the undocumented migrants were apprehended on August 25 after being captured on CCTV robbing a convenience store.
The group alleged that the suspects had been responsible for multiple break-ins and robberies targeting commercial shops with the intent of stealing cash.
In its statement, the group said, “Police in Tripoli arrested 2 undocumented #migrants of Nigerian nationality responsible for series of break and entries and robberies. The accused were targeting commercial stores with the intent of seizing cash. The case was referred to public prosecutor.”
The suspects have since been handed over to the public prosecutor for further investigation.
