Recently evicted Big Brother Naija housemate Doris Okorie says she’s fully prepared to face the spotlight and the controversies that often accompany life in the entertainment industry.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, Doris reflected on her journey so far “I’ve been in the spotlight since 2017, but the attention has really intensified after Big Brother. I’ve watched how senior colleagues handle controversies, and I believe I’m mentally prepared. Even back then, I understood that this path would come with both praise and criticism the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

Doris, who has a background in acting, radio presenting, and voiceover work, said her time in the house has only strengthened her drive to create. She now plans to expand her focus to include film production.

“Before the show, I was already acting, hosting radio shows, and doing voiceovers. Now, I’m picking up right where I left off only this time, I’m adding producing to the mix. I have a few film projects lined up, and I’m finally bringing to life some ideas I’ve had on the back burner.”

Asked about the kinds of roles she enjoys, Doris emphasized her love for diversity in performance.

“I’ve played so many different characters. Just before I entered the Big Brother house, I portrayed a vulcaniser’s wife—it was such a fun role! I’ve never been the type to box myself in. I’m open to taking on anything that challenges me creatively.”

On what made her stand out in the BBNaija house, Doris credited her authenticity.

“People can always tell when someone is being real. I didn’t go into the house trying to play a role or put on a persona—I was simply myself. I think viewers appreciated that they saw every side of me, not just a curated version.”
