An Egyptian national, Mohammed Saleh, has died after reportedly collapsing at a hotel in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.

The incident, which occurred on Friday night, was disclosed in a statement shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to him, the 56-year-old was having dinner with three companions at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel when the tragedy struck.

He wrote, “Sources told Zagazola Makama that the deceased, identified as Mohammed Saleh, 56, slumped while having dinner with three others at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel, Wuse Zone 4, on Friday night.

“The hotel’s security supervisor, Francis Yusuf, reported the matter to the police, Wuse Division, at about 9:24 p.m. on Friday.”

Makama further revealed that Saleh was rushed to King’s Care Hospital in Wuse before being referred to the Wuse District Hospital, where a doctor confirmed him dead.

He added, “The police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The remains of the deceased have since been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

There have been previous instances of foreigners’ deaths recorded by the police, especially in Lagos, often attributed to natural or health-related causes.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said she would verify the development and revert but had not done so at press time.
