The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun online accreditation for journalists and media organisations interested in covering the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC confirmed that the election will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organisations intending to cover the Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 8th November, 2025,” the statement read.
Interested media houses are required to submit applications through the official accreditation portal: https://imap.inecnigeria.org.
The portal, which opened on Monday, September 1, 2025, will close on Friday, October 24, 2025. INEC also stressed that late submissions will not be accepted, as the system will automatically shut down by 12:00 midnight on October 24.
