Social media influencers and content creators Enioluwa Adeoluwa and Tomike Adeoye were at Eko Hotels and Suites on Friday to support celebrity chef Hilda Baci in her latest Guinness World Record attempt cooking the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.
The event, tagged the Gino Jollof Festival, is being hosted in Lagos in partnership with the culinary brand Gino.
It features a record-breaking pot measuring six meters wide and six meters tall, into which 250 bags of rice will be cooked for an estimated crowd of tens of thousands.
Baci, who previously set the world record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, has returned with another ambitious culinary feat. Ahead of the event, she promised attendees an “amazing and hygienic” meal and a memorable, history-making experience.
Enioluwa, who also supported Baci during her 2023 cook-a-thon, shared moments from the event on Instagram including photos and videos with the chef.
“There’s truly nothing you set your mind to that you don’t achieve,” he wrote. “You’re such a go-getter — an incredible friend, an amazing sister, and one of the best things to happen to my world. I’m so proud of you.”
He continued “Today, as you break yet another world record because I know you will just know I’m cheering you on with all my heart. Wishing you all the success in the world. I’ll be rooting for you every step of the way, no matter the distance. I love you endlessly. Go Hilda, go!”
In a separate post, actress and entrepreneur Tomike Adeoye revealed that she is anchoring the festival. She described Hilda’s attempt as “greatness happening in our generation.”
“Hosting duties for #GinoJollofFestivalWithHildaBaci,” she posted.
“Hilda Baci is set to break another record and we’re here to witness history in the making! You’ve done it before, and with God on your side, you’ll do it again. Amen!”
According to organisers, the festival has already recorded over 20,000 registrations. Entry is free, and the atmosphere is charged with excitement and national pride as attendees witness another potential world record unfold.
