Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has expressed his doubt over Ruben Amorim’s capability to turn the club’s fortunes around, saying he has “no faith” in the Portuguese manager.

This remarks from Rooney follows United’s 3-1 loss to Brentford on Saturday, a result that leaves the club with only two league wins so far this season, which left them in 14th place. The team has also crashed out of the Carabao Cup after a shock defeat to League 2 club Grimsby Town.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the ex-England international noted that Amorim, who is of the same age with him, still has a promising career ahead but faces a daunting challenge at Old Trafford.

“Ruben Amorim is my age, maybe a bit younger. He’s still a young manager and I’m sure he has a great future. But what is going on at Man United? I don’t recognise the whole football club,” Rooney said.

“I honestly hope he can turn it around. But if you ask me whether I believe he will, after everything I’ve seen, honestly, I’ve got no faith in him.”
