Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has described the return of former PDP governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a significant boost for the ruling party in Lagos.
Obasa, who hosted Jandor at his Ikeja GRA residence on Tuesday, expressed joy over the development, noting that the APC remains the true political home for Lagosians.
“We are happy to have you back. This is a very good move,” said Obasa, assuring Jandor of full reintegration and collaboration for the party’s collective goal of good governance.
The Speaker commended Jandor’s “courage and conviction,” saying the APC’s inclusive structure offers the ideal platform for unity and development.
In response, Jandor expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged his loyalty to the APC and its vision for Lagos and Nigeria. He also praised President Bola Tinubu’s recent tax reforms, calling them bold and people-focused.
“It takes courage and leadership to introduce such reforms in the face of resistance. The President has once again shown he’s committed to the people,” he said.
Both leaders ended the meeting with a joint commitment to strengthening the APC and improving the welfare of Lagosians.
Jandor officially rejoined the APC in March, citing indiscipline and anti-party activities within the PDP as reasons for his departure.
His return, however, has sparked criticism. Tai Benedict, Deputy Chairman of the Lagos PDP, alleged that Jandor was planted by the APC to destabilize the opposition party.
