Renowned Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his son.
The 54-year-old actor announced the sad development on Saturday through a post on his Instagram page, though he did not disclose details surrounding the circumstances of the boy’s passing.
Sharing a photo of his late son, Chatta wrote: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, dear son, champ.”
His colleagues and fans have since flooded his comment section with messages of condolence, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
The tragedy comes just days after veteran actress, Peju Ogunmola, also lost her only son, Ayomikun, who died earlier this week in Ibadan at the age of 30.
The double blow has cast a shadow of grief over the Nollywood community, with many industry figures and fans mourning both losses.
Chatta had previously recounted the painful memory of losing his first child, a daughter, years ago due to financial hardship and inadequate medical care. He revealed that he was forced to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate as he could not afford a coffin.
