Social media influencer Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, has been appointed a brand ambassador for the Lagos State Kick Against Drug and Substance Abuse (LASKADA) initiative.
The appointment was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, during a public event organized by LASKADA. A video of the event, shared by X (formerly Twitter) user #dammiedammie35, quickly went viral online.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner emphasized the urgency of addressing the drug abuse crisis in Lagos and the need for strategic partnerships with influential figures.
“Drugs are a pandemic affecting our streets, our communities, and our society at large. The government cannot fight it alone. That’s why we’re collaborating with those who have the reach—like Mandy Kiss, who has over 400,000 followers,” Ogunlende said.
He continued “With the authority vested in me, I hereby appoint her as one of our brand ambassadors. Say no to drugs!”
This announcement comes shortly after Mandy Kiss stirred controversy with a now-deleted post claiming she would attempt to set a Guinness World Record by having sex with 100 men in one day—an event she said would take place in Ikorodu, Lagos, on September 30.
The Guinness World Records organization quickly distanced itself from the claim, clarifying that it does not recognize or endorse sexual acts as record categories.
Mandy Kiss later described the post as a joke, but it sparked public backlash and calls for the state government to intervene.
Addressing the controversy, Commissioner Ogunlende said “Everyone has a past. Nobody is perfect. But as a LASKADA ambassador, we believe Mandy Kiss can help spread the anti-drug message throughout Lagos communities.”
He did not disclose specific duties or upcoming campaigns involving the new ambassador.
LASKADA is a Lagos State initiative tasked with developing and coordinating a multi-sectoral, evidence-based response to the growing problem of drug and substance abuse. Its mission includes public education, community outreach, policy advocacy, and research.
