Nigerian content creator and comedian, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has tragically passed away following a fatal car accident.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday along the Oyo–Ogbomoso road in Ibadan. Eyewitness accounts and circulating clips on social media revealed that the vehicle in which Sanku was travelling veered off the road and plunged into a ditch.
He was reportedly in the company of a friend at the time of the crash. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital but were later confirmed dead.
Sanku rose to fame in 2021 for his unique brand of storytelling and humorous skits, quickly building a loyal fan base across social media platforms.
The news of his death has sparked widespread grief among fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa expressed her shock on Instagram, noting that she had earlier sent a student living near Bowen Hospital to check on his condition, and was told he was responding to treatment. She added that despite fervent prayers, Sanku eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Tributes continue to pour in for the young comedian, whose creativity and comic style made him a rising star in Nigeria’s online comedy scene.
