Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has asserted that no actress in the Nigerian movie industry can buy a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) solely from acting income.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Solade explained that the Nigerian film industry does not generate enough revenue to support such extravagant purchases through acting fees alone.
“It is possible from producing but not from acting, except they have a side hustle. How much will they pay you for acting, ₦50 million?” he asked rhetorically.
Solade added that in some cases, such luxury cars might come as gifts. “Yes now, dem fit gift person G-Wagon,” he said in Pidgin English.
The veteran actor recently made headlines for stating that his life improved after he stopped attending church.
