Nigerian celebrity chef and multiple Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has celebrated her 30th birthday with a touching reflection, calling the new decade a fresh beginning filled with gratitude and resilience.

“This is 30, and it feels like stepping into a brand-new book, not just another chapter,” she shared on Instagram on Saturday.

“I carry every lesson, every tear, every win with me, but I walk forward lighter, stronger, and overflowing with gratitude to God. The woman I’ve prayed to be is the woman I’m becoming.”

Her milestone birthday comes shortly after another historic accomplishment. On September 15, 2025, Baci earned a new Guinness World Record for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style Jollof rice. Together with her team, she cooked an 8,000 kg (about 17,637 lbs) pot of Jollof, an event that attracted thousands of spectators in Lagos.

The recognition from Guinness World Records further cemented her status as a trailblazer in Nigerian culinary history. This adds to her earlier achievement in May 2023, when she cooked continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual — a feat that gained her global acclaim.

Baci’s journey has highlighted Nigerian cuisine on the world stage while inspiring millions across Africa and beyond. As she begins a new decade, her reflections echo the determination, ambition, and gratitude that have shaped her career.
