Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman, has returned to full training with the Italian Serie A club after a crucial meeting with head coach Ivan Juric on Thursday morning.
According to multiple Italian outlets, including La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nigerian international joined the first-team session on September 18, marking his first appearance since being frozen out in August.
Lookman had been sidelined following his bid to secure a summer move to Inter Milan, a move that created tension with the club.
Sources revealed that before training resumed, the 26-year-old held a private discussion with Juric and later addressed his teammates, admitting he had endured a “tough summer” but reaffirming his commitment and determination to help the team this season.
The forward is yet to feature in any competitive match for La Dea in the current campaign. However, reports indicate he could be named in the squad for Atalanta’s upcoming Serie A fixture against Torino, as the club looks to recover from their 4–0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Lookman was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season, and his return is expected to give Juric’s side a timely lift in their bid to rediscover form both in Italy and on the European stage.
