Music streaming platform Spotify has recognized Nigerian Grammy award-winner Burna Boy as one of the top Afrobeats artists of 2025.
The announcement, made via Instagram on Monday, highlights Burna Boy alongside fellow Nigerian stars Rema, Wizkid, Asake, and Ayra Starr—the only female artist featured on the ranking.
Spotify wrote, “Afrobeats continues to expand its reach, with fans streaming artists like #heisrema, #wizkidayo, and #burnaboygram from Nigeria to Brazil. Check out some of the top songs, artists, and countries fueling the genre’s discovery and growth globally.”
In addition to the artists’ ranking, the platform also revealed the top Afrobeats songs of 2025. They include:

Shake It To The Max (FLY) – Remix by MOLY, Shenseea, Silent Addy, and Skillibeng
Calm Down (with Selena Gomez) by Rema and Selena Gomez

Spotify further disclosed that Afrobeats tracks were most discovered this year in the United States, Brazil, France, the UK, Germany, and Nigeria.
