Popular TikTok creator Amadou “Jarvis” Aminata has opened up on why her marriage to fellow content creator Habeeb “Peller” Hamzat has not yet taken place, despite being engaged.
Peller proposed to Jarvis in December 2024, and by July 2025, she confirmed their engagement during an interview on Channels Television. At the time, she expressed confidence in their relationship and described how she had grown to better understand the 20-year-old content creator.
However, speaking during a recent TikTok live session, the 23-year-old revealed that the wedding plans were being held back mainly because of Peller’s age and financial situation.
“I’m old enough to get married, but his age is slowing me down. If he were older, we would have been married by now. One day, Peller might decide I’m too old for him, and I don’t want to pressure him into marriage at this stage. That would mean I have bad intentions for him. I want him to learn and experience life first,” Jarvis explained.
She also disclosed her personal plans to marry within three years but stressed the importance of financial stability before taking that step. “I’m still young and have many goals to achieve. I can’t cage myself with marriage yet. Peller’s life wasn’t stable; he didn’t have a steady source of income. His earnings kept fluctuating,” she said.
Peller, on his part, denied that age was the main issue. He expressed fears that Jarvis’ family could interfere in their relationship. “It’s not about age. Her dad can just wake up one day and tell her mum to take her away from Lagos. She’s not safe. Jarvis loves me a lot, but she sometimes acts older than her age,” he said.
The couple previously made headlines after a viral video showed Peller pushing Jarvis following a Seyi Vibes concert in Lagos. Jarvis later clarified that Peller had never abused her, insisting their relationship would not have lasted if he had.
Peller also defended himself, explaining that the push captured on camera was playful and an attempt to shield her from area boys who had approached them for money.
