President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Kaduna has been hailed as a strong affirmation of his commitment to national unity and inclusive leadership, transcending party lines.

In a statement on Sunday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, described the visit as “a resounding political validation” that challenged long-standing assumptions about northern opposition to Tinubu’s leadership.

The President was in Kaduna to attend the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of Senator and former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Yari.

The event brought together prominent political figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and governors from Katsina, Kebbi, and Sokoto States.

President Tinubu also visited the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, offering condolences to his widow, Aisha Buhari.

Dare said the warm reception Tinubu received from leaders across party affiliations underscored his cross-regional appeal and his efforts to foster national cohesion.

“President Tinubu walked boldly into an environment many once considered politically hostile. Yet, in just a few hours, perceptions shifted,” Dare said. “From the streets to the mosques, the welcome was heartfelt and spontaneous.”

He added that the President’s visit demonstrated “compassion, humility, and true statesmanship,” highlighting both celebratory and solemn moments.

One notable interaction was with former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, a long-time political rival. According to Dare, their friendly exchange sent a powerful message of reconciliation and bridge-building.

“When Lamido approached, the President greeted him with a broad smile and laughter. It was a moment of citizen diplomacy — leadership without bitterness,” he said.

Dare concluded that the visit showed Tinubu’s presidency is rooted in inclusion, not partisanship.

“Kaduna and the rest of Nigeria saw clearly that President Tinubu governs for all, regardless of political allegiance.”
