As part of the ongoing convocation ceremony of the Osun State University, the Alumni Association held its Alumni Induction and Orientation Programme for the graduating Class of 2025.

At the hybrid event, held on the University Campus on Friday, with several participants also joining virtually from across Nigeria and abroad, the Alumni also announced a generous donations of N750,000 to be awarded to the best graduating student and second best graduating students.

The annual programme, according to a statement by Oluwasegun Faleyimu, was designed to equip graduating students with knowledge on global career opportunities, scholarships, and the significance of active alumni participation, recorded resounding success.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARIP), Prof. Adetunji Lawrence Kehinde, reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing lifelong relationships with its alumni.

Adebooye emphasized that graduates remain vital ambassadors of the institution, noting that “UNIOSUN products are excelling both locally and internationally. He therefore urged the 2025 set to uphold the University’s good image wherever they go.”

The Global President of OSUAA, Comrade Abdulbasit Abubakar, encouraged the graduating class to embrace the alumni network as a platform for mentorship, collaboration, and contribution to national and global development.

Abubakar also highlighted ongoing projects of the Association, including the construction of hostels across UNIOSUN campuses, beginning with the main campus. In addition, he announced that two distinguished alumni had generously donated N750,000 to be awarded to the best graduating student and the second-best graduating student this year.

The distinguished guest speakers, Prof. Mubarak Adekilekun, SAN, ably represented by Bar. Seye Thompson and Dr. Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, shared practical insights on navigating professional landscapes and seizing global opportunities, inspiring the students as they transition into the alumni community.

Present at the event were top management officials of the University, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Development), Prof. Moruf Olayiwola; the Registrar, Mrs. Atinuke Oguntunde; the Bursar, Mr. Muideen Akintayo Lasisi; the Librarian, Dr. Olugbenga Wale Adewuyi; OSUAA BOT Chairman, Engr. Adebisi Aderanti; the Registrar of Kola-Daisi University, Mr. Haruna Adetu; and the Director of the Advancement Office, Mr. Marcus Awobifa, represented by Mr. Adedayo Adeyemi, Acting Director, Linkages & International Partnerships (UNIOSUN).

The event also had the honor of welcoming Hon. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director, Nigerian Ports Authority and Global President of the LAUTECH Alumni Association, who was ably represented by Prof. Azeem Ige, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.

The 2025 Alumni Induction and Orientation Programme stands as a testament to the University’s dedication to preparing its graduates for meaningful engagement, leadership, and impact within and beyond Nigeria.
