The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2025 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates.
The new deadline is now Friday, September 19, 2025, moving the original cut-off date from September 5.
This update was made public through WAEC’s official account on X (formerly known as Twitter), where the examination body stated.
“The registration period for CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025—Second Series, has been extended to Friday, September 19, 2025. All prospective candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.”
While the extension has been met with appreciation by many prospective candidates, some remain cautious about the council’s shift from traditional paper-based exams to a fully digital registration and examination format.
