Adidas has officially presented the Trionda, the match ball that will be used at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place across Canada, Mexico, and the United States next summer.
This marks the 15th consecutive World Cup for which Adidas has supplied the official ball, continuing a partnership with FIFA that spans more than five decades. The collaboration began with the introduction of the iconic Telstar at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
Since the inaugural World Cup in Uruguay in 1930, a total of 23 different ball designs have been used, each reflecting changes in technology, materials, and the evolution of the game. From the leather constructions of the early tournaments to today’s high-performance, scientifically engineered designs, the World Cup ball has mirrored football’s transformation from its rudimentary beginnings to its modern, global spectacle.
The unveiling of the Trionda adds a new chapter to this history, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation.
As excitement builds toward the 2026 tournament, football fans now have their first glimpse of the ball that will feature in the world’s biggest sporting event when it kicks off next June.
