Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has described his re-election bid as “a divine project and a mass movement” that reflects the people’s shared commitment to the state’s ongoing development.

Soludo made this statement on Tuesday during a campaign rally held at Onitsha South Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.

Addressing the gathering, the governor said the large turnout of residents was proof of the growing momentum behind his campaign.

“My candidacy is a divine project and a mass movement that resonates deeply with our people. It embodies our collective purpose and commitment to continue transforming Anambra State,” Soludo said.

“I am deeply humbled by your unwavering support. This campaign is unlike any other in our history, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone standing with us.”

The governor highlighted several achievements of his administration, particularly within Onitsha South, such as the construction of a specialist general hospital in Fegge, and major improvements in public schools across the area. He assured residents that even greater progress would follow if re-elected for a second term.

Several community leaders and residents also spoke in support of Soludo’s campaign.

Okwudili Nwankwo, President General of Fegge, praised the governor’s youth empowerment initiative, “One Youth, Two Skills”, which he said has provided vital opportunities for young people across the state.

Chibuike Ugo, another resident, commended Soludo’s free education and healthcare policies, noting that “free antenatal and delivery services have changed lives in our communities — these aren’t just policies; they are lifelines.”

For Franklin Onyeke, the governor’s leadership represents hope and stability.

“As we pray for his victory on November 8, we remain confident that Soludo will keep leading Anambra toward greater heights,” he said.

In a show of support, a cheque donation of ₦20 million was presented to the governor’s campaign team.

Governor Soludo, who is running on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will face 16 other candidates in the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election.
