The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a two-week warning strike, set to begin at midnight today. The union said the action is intended to give the Federal Government time to conclude ongoing negotiations and address lingering issues affecting its members.

ASUU President, Prof. Chris Piwuna, announced the decision during a press conference held at the union’s national secretariat at the University of Abuja on Sunday.

He accused the government of lacking sincerity in the negotiation process, alleging that delays and broken promises have stalled the full implementation of agreements reached with the union.

Piwuna directed all ASUU members across Nigerian universities to withdraw their services with immediate effect, emphasizing that the warning strike was a prelude to more decisive action if the government fails to act within the two-week window.
