Nigerian media personality and former Big Brother Africa winner, Uti Nwachukwu, has spoken out following the disqualification of Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Faith, after her altercation with fellow contestant, Sultana.

Reacting via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, Uti addressed what he sees as a growing trend of biased judgments in public discourse surrounding the show.

He argued that while both parties could have handled the situation better, it’s problematic to automatically label the person who reacts without physical violence as an abuser, especially when provoked.

He wrote, “Could she have acted better? Yes. Could he have handled it better? Also yes. A trigger is just as serious as a reaction… It’s incredibly narcissistic to paint the instigator as a victim and the reactor who didn’t hit anyone as an abuser.”

Uti emphasized that his stance isn’t about taking sides but about encouraging viewers to reflect on the full context of what they witnessed on live television, rather than relying on edited social media clips. “Let’s dead the sentiments. This is 2025. Let’s be guided,” he added.

Faith’s disqualification, which occurred on Thursday, has ignited widespread debate across social platforms and among BBNaija fans.

According to the show’s official rulebook, all forms of violence whether physical or psychological are strictly prohibited, and Big Brother reserves the right to enforce disciplinary actions.

Her removal adds to a history of controversial disqualifications in the show’s past seasons, sparking renewed conversations around fairness, provocation, and the enforcement of rules.

Uti, a long-standing commentator on BBNaija affairs, concluded his remarks by urging fans to adopt a more nuanced and less emotionally driven approach when discussing such incidents.
