Bayern Munich have confirmed that manager Vincent Kompany has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.

The Belgian coach, who joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2024, has quickly won over fans after guiding Bayern back to the league title in his first season, reclaiming it from Bayer Leverkusen.

Now in his second season, the 39-year-old has led Bayern to an incredible start, winning all 11 of their matches so far and topping both the Bundesliga and Champions League tables.

Speaking after signing the contract extension, the former Manchester City captain expressed his delight and optimism for the future.

“It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer and that I know the club well,” Kompany said. “It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started on a wonderful journey. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!”

Kompany’s impressive start has silenced early doubts about his appointment, especially after reports that he wasn’t Bayern’s first choice when they hired him. His tactical discipline and strong rapport with the squad have been key to Bayern’s resurgence both domestically and in Europe.
