Big Brother Naija star, Phyna, has accused the Dangote Group of negligence and insensitivity in the handling of issues surrounding the death and burial of her sister, Ruth Otabor.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Phyna alleged that her sister’s death was not only tragic but also appeared “calculated and planned.” She faulted the company for failing to fully cover the medical and burial expenses, despite making public promises to do so.

According to Phyna, Dangote Group only cleared bills at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, leaving the family to bear other costs, including those incurred from Auchi to Irrua.

“The bills from Auchi down to Irrua were covered by the family; no refund has been made so far,” she lamented.

Phyna further revealed that on the day of Ruth’s burial, September 13, all attempts to reach the company were unsuccessful.
“Dangote Group did not pick up all calls made to them, as we were told the bills were not paid, though they claimed otherwise,” she wrote.

The reality star also shared a letter allegedly sent by the company to her father, asking him to sign an acknowledgment of receipt regarding burial expenses. She accused Dangote Group of impersonation, insisting that such a request should have been addressed to the family directly.

“This letter that was sent to my dad this evening is really paining me. @dangotegroup you killed my sister, did massive PR, gave the girl’s papa money for burial, then still by yourself wrote an acknowledgement letter impersonating my father and sent it to him to sign,” Phyna alleged.

She questioned why a company of such magnitude would, in her words, resort to such actions instead of showing honesty and respect to her grieving family.
